Think about it. Firefox gets developed at night. During daylight concentration and focus of developers tends to be at its highest. However, seeing as Firefox is an open source project, people volunteer to work for it. Logically, they do this at night as they have money making jobs to do during the rest of the day. The obvious result is a sloppy browser. Now look at Chromium. It is an open source project yes, but Google employees get paid to work on it because they also release a branded version called Google Chrome.
Obviously this results in three browsers: Firefox, Chromium and Chrome. Because Chrome is basically the stable branded version of Chromium, we'll leave it aside for now.
So you got Firefox; a stable modern browser but with undeniable bugs and other problems due to the developers not working on it at their full potential. Chromium, on the other hand, is a sanely programmed browser with a state of the art software architecture resulting in not only a fast and reliable browser, but also in an innovative and bug free product.
I've made my choice solely on these facts and not a day comes by I regret it.
