The AMD Dual Graphics feature combines the 3D graphics rendering resources of the “Llano” APU’s discrete-class graphics processor with a mobile discrete graphics processor to accelerate the Microsoft® Direct3D® function for software applications using Microsoft® DirectX® 10 (“DX10”) and Microsoft® DirectX® 11 (“DX11”) technology. The Dual Graphics feature is only supported in the Dynamic mode of the AMD Switchable Graphics technology.

To evaluate the graphics performance enabled by the Dual Graphics feature, the following steps are typical. The application must be a DirectX® 10 or DirectX® 11 Direct3D® full-screen, frame-oriented rendering application (i.e. a 3D game) with the AMD A-Series notebook platform configured in AMD Switchable Graphics Dynamic Mode. AMD VISION Engine Control Center must be installed to control graphics features.

Please read the Dual-Graphics Configuration section completely before initiating an evaluation. If evaluating multiple applications, you can save a lot of time by planning ahead for the sequence each application’s run.

NOTE: There are options in the BIOS setup for AMD PowerXpress™ Dynamic and Fixed modes. The default setting on the review unit is Fixed Mode “disabled” and Dynamic Mode “enabled.” To follow the instructions below, ensure that both options are set to “enabled.” To do this, press F2 at the BIOS splash screen, then use the arrow keys to navigate to “Advanced” then “>Video Configuration” and press “enter.” Use the arrow keys to navigate to “PX Fix Mode” and “PX Dynamic Mode” and ensure they are both set to “<Enabled>.”
