I have many friends in Europe learning Turkish. They all complain how Turkish makes no sense. When I ask Turkish people, me included, we cannot make sense of our language. I am an English teacher. One of the biggest challenges I face every day is the fact that nobody knows Turkish very well. They only know casual speech, but they don’t know grammar, syntax, spelling, conjunctions, adverbs, and so on. They are very weak in reading too. So, maybe we should teach our own language better before even touching a foreign one.
