With all the SmartPhones and Smart TV's running Linux, its the Golden Era for the open source OS, for sure.
Linux powered Phones, TVs, Modems and STBs are all over the place and users enjoy configuring and hacking them according to their needs.
On the other hand, closed systems like Apple's iOS and MS' Windows Phone lack the support of the Open Source community.
Linux developers are also very happy with this situation, for sure. Cyanogenmod developers were welcomed by Samsung. Yet on the other hand they do not condone hacking of their TVs - the SamyGo project is being watched closely and Samsung is pushing the limits of security...
Anyway, I am really happy for this scenario. "Linuxers" finally got the attention they deserved for years.
