Hi and sorry for writing in English on your board but I saw you guys created a whole thread about Intel+NVIDIA Freeze due to Windows 10 Creators Fall Update and NVIDIA Optimus.

I think I am having the same issue as you describe, but with my Lenovo Legion 5 15ACH6H. Basically when I am clicking on some Windows 11 UI interface (RMB on desktop, Wi-Fi/speaker/battery icon, locking account, shutdown button) I get a 0.5 second freeze. This only happens after I install AMD GPU drivers. The issue also disappears if I turn off Hybrid Mode (it turns off iGPU).

The issue looks like this:

Because of that I want to ask you guys if the Intel+NVIDIA issue was really fixed, or was it fixed partially like the thread suggests, or did it return recently for Intel? I wrote a New thread for this issue because the Intel One was closed some time ago.

I would really appreciate any information (in Turkish or English) if the issue is present on other laptops with AMD+NVIDIA GPUs and/or if the issue was fixed on Intel One S.

I had this problem since the moment I bought this laptop. First I only noticed those stutters when using certain Windows 11 UI elements. Then I noticed that sometimes I get those stutters every 10-20 seconds. Back then I didn't know the exact repro steps so I just gave it back to Lenovo Service, who couldn't find the issue.

That being said when I was reinstalling drivers a few days ago and I noticed that the UI stutters appear the moment I successfully install AMD drivers. Doesn't matter if Certified lenovo drivers or official AMD ones.

About Safe Mode, the UI stutter issue does not occur there. I am not sure about the stutter every 10-20 seconds. I assume it might also be an AMD vs OS driver incompatibility.

Btw I forgot to show videos of the stutter that happens on battery power only. Here are some youtube videos from me:

I have also looked around on other boards some more and I found some links speaking of same issues that I have:

So far I found out that UI freezing occurs on HP and Lenovo laptops. Meanwhile micro-stuttering on battery power has been observed on Lenovo, HP and ROG. I have a suspicion that this issue occurs only on AMD+NVIDIA rigs with MUX switch.

A small update. I wrote to Lenovo Support about it again and they decided that it's a motherboard issue. They sent a technician via lenovo on-site service who replaced the motherboard in my laptop. While he was still at my house I reproduced all of the issues. Still there, not motherboard related.

He told me to mention this again to Lenovo Support because the issue is ugly.

I have this problem too.

I've given up hope that Microsoft will take care of this but luckily your device has MUX Support.

From the BIOS only if you dGPU choose. Your problem will be fixed. My device name Lenovo Ideapad Gaming 3 No MUX Support. I can't solve the problem. The problem has existed for 1.5 years. If I had known, I wouldn't have bought the device. I have opened many threads in this forum. You can see it on my account with translation. There is no hope for a solution, it can only be solved temporarily. The problem continues in Windows 10, do not downgrade for nothing. There is a problem with the operating System, I sent it to the service. They couldn't solve it. You don't need to send it to service, there is no problem with your device. If you have the opportunity to return the device, I would say return it.

Thank you for your response. I unfortunately missed the 15 days during which you could return it. Now I'm stuck with Lenovo Support until they decide if I can get a refund or if I have to suffer, because it's not a technical issue on their side (even though the laptop just stutters).

Considering you have the same problem could you maybe take a while and mention it in my thread on Microsoft board? And also click the "I have the same issue" thing?

I did what you said. You mentioned that you want to use the entire device and you are right, but I advise you to choose only the external video card from the bios, this will return you both as fps increase and your problem will be solved. Unfortunately, I do not have this option. Also, I just mentioned this issue with feedback, I hope it gets resolved as soon as possible.when i asked when this problem will be solved,@Recep Baltaş said it will be solved when we make microsoft a feedback maniac. Now I have reported the situation to Microsoft, there is no other choice but to wait and see.

Thank you! Yes I hope more people will write in that thread because it seems other people with similar laptops also have this issue. I will link that thread to other places talking about this issue and hopefully we can gather enough folks to do something about it.

Btw I see you clicked the button but I don't see the post yet. Not sure if it was sent or is it being moderated (I don't think they moderate posts tho).

I am writing to help you. You can choose the high performance NVIDIA Processor from the NVIDIA Control panel, this will keep you going for a while until the issue is resolved.
I gave a Turkish Source to help. I wanted to sell my device for a while, but I did not sell it because my conscience was not clear. This is just One of the topics I wrote or opened. If you remove the right Click Radeon Software from Regedit, the right Click stuck problem is solved, but instead of dealing with it, I just install the Graphics driver without any additional features. Right Click fixed. I will try to Support as much as I can.

Ah okay, thanks! I think if Lenovo Support doesn't come up with an idea what to do about the subject, I will just switch the MUX switch as you all say. This is a terrible 'solution' but if it's really the only option to make stutters go... Oh well. I guess I'll do that. But first I want to fight with Microsoft about it.

You are very lucky to have a mux key. I don't have a mux key on my 15ARH05 ideapad gaming 3 device. Fight for me too 😁. Thanks to the mux key, your laptop will turn into a desktop and you will not have to use the amd video card as the options in the nvidia control panel will increase. This will return you as a performance increase, but high battery usage. take that into consideration as well.If this does not solve your problem, you can do what I wrote above.
