St. Paul Church in Tarsus

Religious compressions were extinguished by Rome Emperor Constantinius in the 4th Century, AD. So, Churches were started to build easily. A lot of Churches were built in the region of Cydnus (Tarsus) of Cilicia. This Church was built in behalf of Saint Paul, It. was cared by Christians so much. It was built at the construction of three have rectangle. Belfries were done to its North and East Corners. The Ceiling of the Central nave was decorated with the motifs of Jesus, the evangelists; Johannes, Mattios, Marcos and Lucas. It was rebuilt by orthodox Arabs in 1850. It was closed in 1994. Eventually, it was reopened as a museum. After the Saint Paul Symposium and ritual done in 1990s, Christians attached more importance to the Church. The fee of Saint Paul church is 5 TL. The church is still used by Christians as a pilgrimage place.
